To enhance your stand at the flea market and increase sales, we’ll reveal a few simple tricks and tips. It’s worth following these, as it can really make a huge difference how you present your goods and how you approach the sale!
Present your goods attractively
A tablecloth on your stand table, clothes rails for clothing or simply a beautiful arrangement of your goods can quickly enhance your stand. Be creative and let off steam when decorating! Our stands are larger than average, so there are no limits to how you can present your goods!
Pay attention to the condition of your goods
It is worth cleaning or washing your goods again before selling them. This will enhance the appearance of your goods and make them more appealing to potential buyers!
Be friendly
In a store, you also expect to be treated in a friendly and polite manner. Have a positive and friendly attitude to attract shoppers to your stand! A friendly smile often works wonders.
Determine the value of goods
Even if you sell items that are no longer of any use to you, they are still far from worthless! Find out in advance how much your goods are worth and what price is reasonable. Flea markets are known to have low prices, but don’t sell anything far below its actual value and don’t reduce your profit by doing so!
Negotiate
There is a lot of bargaining at flea markets, so be prepared and don’t be shy! In the best case scenario, you can agree on a price that is okay for you AND your buyer! So don’t fixate too much on a certain price and let people talk to you but, as mentioned before, only as long as the price is still reasonable!
Arrive in time to set up your stand
You don’t have to worry about being late and not getting a place at the flea market because we have enough stands available, but it’s still worth coming early. Take enough time to set up your stall and decorate it!
Approach buyers openly, but not intrusively
You may find yourself in this situation: a potential buyer is standing in front of your stand and is interested in your goods, but hasn’t approached you yet. Don’t be shy and take the first step! Be open, communicative and promote your product in order to sell it in the end.
Package prices
For many products, it makes sense to offer package prices. Increase your sales by selling several items together, but at a better price!
No goods are not for sale
If you’re unsure whether anyone would even pay for some items, just take them with you! The item may no longer be of value to you, but it might be to someone else. If you really don’t want to ask anything more for something, take it anyway and give it away. It’s always nicer when an item gets a second life and someone else enjoys it instead of hastily throwing it away!
Enjoy the day and have fun
Selling at a flea market is a special experience, especially if you don’t do it regularly. Enjoy the day and have fun selling! You give goods a second life, make other people happy, get rid of old burdens and earn a little extra money!
Choose the right flea market for your goods
Fortunately, the Puntigam flea market is the right place for all your goods! Lots of visitors, a pleasant atmosphere, free parking. Buyers don’t have to carry their flea market goods so far, you can park your car directly behind the sales area and much more. We sell everything from second-hand clothes, children’s clothes, used electrical appliances, crockery, records, books and antique furniture. So no matter what you want to sell, you’ve come to the right place at our flea market in Graz at the Cineplexx parking lot!
Don’t lose your motivation
Everyone has a bad day, but don’t let it get you down! Try out different sales techniques throughout the day. Promote your products more, approach people openly, present your goods differently. There are many possibilities and you have plenty of time to try everything out. Don’t give up!
Take original packaging and instructions for use with you
Perhaps you still have the original packaging or instructions for use for one or other product at home. Take both with you and give them to your buyer. This increases the value of your product and is a nice extra!
Keep your space clean and tidy
A clean space not only looks better, but is also much more appealing and inviting for customers. Goods lying on the floor always look shabby!
Give interesting goods a good place
Place interesting goods in a clearly visible position to draw customers’ attention to your stand. This will encourage them to come to your stand and browse through other items.
Be patient!
There will be phases with lots of visitors and others where there is little activity. If you pack your goods too early, you will scare off potential customers who are still on site. All too often you end up making a good deal or two!
Be friendly to the person sitting next to you
Friendliness is always king! If you need to go to the toilet or get food and there are potential customers at your stand, it is always helpful to get along with your flea market stand neighbors and ask for help.
Have fun at the flea market in Graz – Puntigam!
